Interview with the courageous and powerful @_notyourwaifu_

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by you telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

REBECCA: I work for a global company selling software solutions as a business development manager. I represent only myself. My opinions are reflective of only my thoughts and not necessarily of my employer. I love that what I sell empowers my clients to change the way they connect and collaborate with others.

LECHERY: We came across your page as we saw that you’re into modelling and being in lingerie. What got you into lingerie?

REBECCA: I’ve always had an interest in modeling. My mom was my role model growing up, and she always had an excellent sense of style that represented her personality and her mood.  She walks with confidence, always carries a great smile, and exudes a level of optimism that is scarce in this world. To this day she carries that same energy, and I believe I do too. Cher once said “I wear my clothes, my clothes don’t wear me.” I’ve never come across a truer statement when it comes to personal style.  In regards to lingerie, I figured, why not include it as part of my portfolio. People think it’s just underwear, and to some extent that’s true, but I think it’s also a great way to reflect the multidimensional layers of your personality.

LECHERY: We love how confident and bold you are as portrayed in your pictures! What does lingerie mean to you?

REBECCA: I find this question interesting, and I also find it interesting that I’m perceived as bold for doing so. I think there’s certainly still a stigma for women who want to do lingerie modeling, and I think some people take issue to women who choose not to fit into a narrow definition of how they “should” act. (i.e. subservient, pious, modest) To me lingerie reflects a few things– owning your femininity, your individual agency, your style, and your sexuality.

LECHERY: What is the perfect set of lingerie for you? Any brands you recommend?

REBECCA: I love a well fitting body suit! They can be layered with jeans, and is flattering for all body types. Plus I never have to worry about finding matching tops/bottoms. I’m a personal big fan of La Senza. They have a great selection, are affordable, and are always running great promotions. (will ya’ll sponsor me now? Lol)

LECHERY: How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

REBECCA: Lingerie makes me feel free – both literally and metaphysically.

LECHERY: What is your main advice to women who struggle with confidence and body image?

REBECCA: I think this a sensitive topic a lot of women can relate to. There’s a lot of pressure for us to always look our best. I personally have my good days and my bad days. Ironically enough, what makes me feel most confident isn’t doing lingerie modeling, but investing in my own overall personal development brings me the greatest fulfillment. Let go of the perception that you need to be perfect, and just strive for excellence. You’re more than just your skin. You are more than just beautiful.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the lingerie industry in the future?

REBECCA: I hope to see more diverse body and ethnic representation in advertisements. No two people on this planet have the same exact body, and even the ones that are very similar have their own idiosyncrasies. I love that brands like Aerie and SavagexFenty reflect this.

LECHERY: What is one lingerie brand that every girl should have in their closet?

REBECCA: Aerie has great options for day to day to wear, and La Senza’s got great fashionable pieces.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?

REBECCA: This is so hard to put into words, and has little to do with lingerie. Carrying my truth, owning my autonomy and appreciating the entirety of who I am, including all my flaws, is what makes me feel most confident and sexy.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:

REBECCA: Lingerie in 3 words: Feminine, empowering, beautiful.
