From being a journalist by profession to working in digital marketing to making her name in the beauty industry, Emily Soto is an ambitious woman who doesn’t allow anyone to get her way.

Based in Chile but Venezuelan by nationality, we came across Emily’s social media after being amazed by the content she puts out. She gives us that very laid-back, chic, and effortless vibe that very few can pull-off, and Emily is one of them. While her main focus is on beauty content and makeup, we were fortunate enough to come across a few of her lingerie photoshoots and were amazed by them. So what did we do? We reached out to her, asking if she wanted to do an interview with us. She agreed.

In a nutshell, Emily has gone through very dark moments in her life through body insecurity and lack of confidence. However, she was able to see an opportunity she did not want to miss which was to enter the world of photography and lingerie modeling. This became a watershed moment in her life as she felt it was a risk. Nevertheless, looking back, Emily has changed her perspective on herself, feeling that lingerie has gotten her out of her comfort zone and was able to express her own beauty, sensuality, and security. Read on as Emily sheds light on her journey to self-love and lingerie modeling.

Interview with the stunning and gorgeous @EmilyCSoto:

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

EMILY: First of all, I want to thank you for inviting me to this interview. I am Venezuelan, currently I live in Chile and I am a Journalist by profession, but for 4 years I have been working in digital marketing, that is what I do. In my free time, I like to create beauty content, makeup, and do photo shoots with some photography friends.

LECHERY: We see that you're into lingerie, what got you into posting lingerie? Is that your way of practicing self-care? Tell us more about it.

EMILY: I used to feel very insecure about my body, I did not like to take photos so I only uploaded selfies or photos that I took myself. But, almost 2 years ago I decided to enter the world of photography and take a risk. One of my first sessions was to model in lingerie and when I saw the result I immediately fell in love with them. These photos of me in lingerie, is a way of expressing beauty, sensuality, and security, among other things.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

EMILY: Yes, lingerie makes me feel comfortable and it makes me feel sensual. I also feel that through lingerie I am able to connect with my own femininity while also exploring new heights that come with it. Although wearing lingerie can be seen as a way to seduce one’s partner, I feel that you can be sensual in many ways and you do not necessarily need lingerie for that. But the most important thing is that I wear lingerie for myself.

LECHERY: What is the perfect set of lingerie for you? And which brands would you recommend?

EMILY: I like subtle and delicate lingerie. I enjoy playing with transparency (sheer fabric)  and lace. One brand I would like to recommend is a Venezuelan brand that has extremely beautiful and unique pieces, Feel Rebel.

LECHERY: What is a bad experience you've had with a lingerie set? And what brands would you avoid buying from?

EMILY: So far, I haven’t had any negative experiences, I have not tried many brands (not yet haha), so I couldn't say any.

LECHERY: What is your main advice to women who struggle with confidence and body image?

EMILY: As I mentioned before, I used to feel insecure about my body. A couple of years ago I was extremely thin, in addition to the fact that I have always had small boobs and that made me very insecure. But I started to see many people of different sizes, models or even people very close to me, who didn't care about the rest, they cared about the fact that they felt happy and sure of how they looked. That made me understand that we must accept and love each other. Beauty doesn't have a manual and shouldn't have stereotypes, no matter your color, your size, your nationality, the beauty in each person, is unique.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the lingerie industry in the future?

EMILY: I hope to find more inclusion, more variety of sizes and styles although that is already seen in the industry. Keep giving the message that showing off wearing lingerie is normal and sexy, but not vulgar. We still live in a society where many people criticize women who show their sensuality through lingerie, and that thinking SHOULD change.

LECHERY: What is one lingerie piece that every girl should have in their closet?

EMILY: Definitely a black or red piece. Lace is also a must that can not be missed haha!

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?

EMILY: Beyond the topic of lingerie, I think the piece that makes us look sexier is the confidence we show with our faces, gestures, and postures. It's not just the lingerie, it's your attitude.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:

EMILY: Sensuality, creativity, and art

LECHERY: It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?

EMILY: Fortunately, I can do my work remotely, so I keep working through the day, creating content, watching movies, series or documentaries, spending time with family or cooking. I only go out when it is necessary, you know, to go to the pharmacy or the supermarket, using my personal care items, taking distance and everything that is necessary to avoid infections.
