Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy! We can’t believe it is almost September! Where has the year gone? It’s been such a crazy year and one that will be unforgettable for all of us.

With that said, today, we have our last interview before we head for the weekend. And that interview is with Franki Boom @Frankiboom.burlesque.

Franki is a burlesque dancer and model out of Roanoke, Virginia. Franki graced our presence after seeing the amazing DIY products she makes like her collars! We thought these were super cool, creative, and unique of her to make - if you would like to see more of her products, go check her page out at @Frankiboom.burlesque! Not only does she create amazing DIY products, but we also came to realize she is a Burlesque Dancer. If you’re not familiar with Burlesque Dancers, they are dancers who like to give a good show to their audience - let’s just leave it at that *laughs*;). Many of these Burlesque Dancers do wear hosiery and lingerie as part of their job. The term Burlesque came from the Italians which essentially means “mockery.” If we were to go back in time, the terminology was used to refer to entertainments that used caricature, ridicule, and distortion (dictionary.com). Renowned, Italian poet, Francesco Berni, was one of the first people to use the word to describe some of his operas, burleschi.

Fast forward to present times, LECHERY stumbled upon this wonderful woman, Franki, who is a Burlesque Dancer by profession, and we were able to do an interview with her discussing about the art of Burlesque, how lingerie plays a significant role in her day-to-day life, why hosiery is such a staple piece for every woman's wardrobe (especially fishnet thigh highs), and many more.

Interview with the fearless and eccentric @Frankiboom.burlesque

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

FRANKI: I am a burlesque dancer and alt model out of Roanoke, VA. I started as a pinup model about 10 years ago and have now been performing burlesque for almost 7 years as Franki Boom-Boom. I am the founder of Out of Body Burlesque which is a collective based mainly on the east coast.

LECHERY: We see that you're into hosiery and lingerie, what got you into posting hosiery and lingerie? Tell us more about it.

FRANKI: In my later teenage years and 20s I was obsessed with retro and pin up fashion. I loved the old school lingerie and garter belts of the 50s. So when I was old enough, I started pin up modeling in those same styles that I used to drool over.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

FRANKI: Lingerie has become such a huge part of my life and who I've become. From pin up to burlesque I have grown to love the empowerment derived from finding the perfect piece of lingerie for the stage or at home.

LECHERY: What is the perfect pair of hosiery for you?

FRANKI: I am a slave to fishnets and prefer them in thigh highs.

LECHERY: Have you ever had a negative experience with a pair of hosiery you have bought? And what brands would you avoid buying from?

FRANKI: Being a thicker woman I used to think that I wasn't meant to wear thigh highs but I just came to find out you have to get the right ones.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the hosiery and lingerie industry in the future?

FRANKI: The big dream would be to have my burlesque group and I sponsored by a lingerie or hosiery company of course, but for now I'll settle with continuing to find awesome pieces to rock on stage.

LECHERY: What type of hosiery should every girl have in their closet?

FRANKI: Whatever makes them feel good. Everyone has their own style, but a back seam tends to make anyone feel sexy.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?

FRANKI: Black lace! Black lace everything lol
