Armchair Critics and Weight Problems with @Iraofficial

Good evening LECHERY LADIES! How is everyone doing? Hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy amidst COVID-19. It seems like we are seeing improvements around the world, but it still hasn’t gotten back to normal life. With that said, we want to remain positive and we will get through this! Every week there always seems to be an improvement!

To continue on this post, it’s Saturday night, and that means a new LECHERY interview will be posted tomorrow on our feed! We may have already given out some spoilers to who our next virtual guest would be since we did post the amazing and inspiring video she made for us the other day on our story. So yes! It is none other than @iraofficial. Ira is a woman of talent and beauty. She is a model, an influencer, a singer, and a bass player. In this interview with Ira, she shares with us her experience in entering the world of lingerie and doing collaborations with lingerie brands from Europe. She also shares how she feels in lingerie, what it means to her, and why she feels that lingerie is like a “second skin.” Ira also gives us some great and to the point advice on body-confidence, self-love, and self-care. She is a firm believer of diversity and believes that all bodies are beautiful. Ira is definitely a woman who is smart, stunning, and inspiring.

Without us giving any more spoilers, we also would like to give a huge shoutout to her for creating an amazing video answering all our questions - check her Instagram @iraofficial to see the video!

Interview with the talented and fearless @iraofficial

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

IRA: Hello there, my name is Ira Getman. I am a curve model and influencer from Germany. I am also a singer and a bass player. I used to play bass and sing in a metal band before, but now I’m a solo musician and looking for a serious interesting project.

LECHERY: We see that you're into hosiery and lingerie, what got you into posting hosiery and lingerie? Tell us more about it.

IRA: I love lingerie and hosiery, of course. I used to do many campaigns and collaborations for a few brands like Fashion Nova, Katherine Hamilton, Fräulein Spitz, Tutti Rougette and many others. I own a lot of lingerie pieces. I love bodysuits, harnesses and of course beautiful lingerie sets. I could call myself a lingerie addict. I have been asked if I could be a lingerie blogger before as I can tell a lot about texture, color, form, and I know what kind of lingerie fits me perfectly.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

IRA: Lingerie means to me not only a nice part or piece of clothing. It’s also a second skin I am in, it’s a beautiful supplement of the whole look. Of course, I feel sexy and mega confident while wearing them. All those laces, straps, corsets, bustiers, body pieces just make us women extremely happy.

LECHERY: What is the perfect lingerie set for you?

IRA: It depends what kind of mood or occasion I am into. If it’s a regular working day as a model, I use my “working” lingerie sets: laceless nude or black bras, strings and body pieces. If I am feeling great about myself, I am wearing a nice sexy lingerie set ( I love sets that match, I am almost never wearing pieces from different sets). I am always wearing a set, what fits my inner look. I also love to wear body pieces on a regular day. I realized that in winter I am mostly wearing black, red, blue sets or body pieces and in summer I am mostly wearing white, powder or pale pink sets with flowers. It lightens up my mood.

LECHERY: Have you ever had a negative experience with a pair of hosiery you have bought? And what brands would you avoid buying from?

IRA: I never had any negative experience with my lingerie/hosiery shopping. I have found a few perfect lingerie brands that I fully trust. Their products not only just fit perfect, but it’s also great quality. I think every woman has been through this choice to find her perfect lingerie brand.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the hosiery and lingerie industry in the future?

IRA: I think now the lingerie industry is at its peak of diversity and affordability. Almost every woman in the world can afford a nice set of lingerie. Nevertheless, we should look for more fair trade ways and for more chances of recycling to save our planet. I also hope that many brands are paying fair to their workers, creating some good conditions for them, using good textiles, and donating enough products and money for the needy citizens.

LECHERY: What type of hosiery should every girl have in their closet?

IRA: I can’t say in the name of everybody. Every girl  should just try to find her own lingerie style if necessary. A good bra and a few comfortable knickers could make the life of a woman a bit easier and happier.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy? What is your advice to other women who struggle with confidence and body-image?

IRA: My favorite piece of lingerie  or every day is a french knicker, comfortable beautiful bra and a lace body piece. It’s very difficult to be a speaker or an honest advocate for the women who are struggling with their confidence because I never was one of them. I always accepted and loved myself for who I am. My point of view is that the society created this body insecurity. If you ask a regular thick girl on the street about it, she will certainly tell you that she has had problems since her school times or even at home because of her “non-standard” body. I am happy that now the society is getting more tolerant and we all can celebrate diversity. All bodies are beautiful. I am speaking about healthy bodies. If a person loves to eat donuts and fast food every day and is ok with her/himself it’s his-/her personal choice - and I believe that should be also fine. Why doesn’t a smoker or junkie get that much judgement compared to as a person with weight problems? Why is no one judging anorexia, bulimia, drug and alcohol problems that much even in the model world? But many so-called “armchair critics” are judging a woman with weight problems. We’re all creating our reality by ourselves.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:

IRA: Feminin, sexy, and timeless.

LECHERY: We have one more question before we wrap up this interview. It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy.

IRA: COVID-19 has been really hard for everyone. Life just stopped for everyone. But it’s also a perfect time to decide what everybody wants. There are many people who are afraid. I am solving this problem in a philosophical way: what has to happen - happens. So for me, there’s just no time for panic or negativity. I often say to my family members how much I love them.  I am trying to keep my mind clear by meditating, doing music, working on my positive mind, and walking 10 km daily. Sometimes, I also do sport.
