Happy Tuesday everyone! Did you start your day by having positive thoughts? Or did you do anything new today? Have you completed everything you wanted to do up to this point? We would love to know what our fellow readers have been doing!

Today, we conducted an interview with this one of a kind beauty and LECHERY warrior queen, Busisiwe Dladla, @HerMajesty_TheBrave. Dladla is a 24 year old IT graduate who currently works at a telecommunication company. She is also a plus-size lingerie model. Dladla was born in the city of Johannesburg, in the province of Gauteng, in South Africa. Dladla describes that she always had a strong and loud personality which she has used to her advantage in trying to speak and voice out her opinions.

Despite all the confidence and unabashed feminine persona that Dladla embodies and portrays, this woman had overcome some of the worst forms of bullying growing up. Back in the 10th grade, she overheard two girls passing by as she was walking to a friend’s house saying, “If I was ever her size, I would kill myself.” After hearing these words come out of those girls mouths, she lost her breath, turned back, and went home in which she cried for hours. It was through this experience, her hatred toward herself grew. She hated everything that she was.

Nevertheless, Dladla did not give up. She rose. She persevered. She worked in improving herself. She spent a significant time with her body and transformed all the negative thoughts she once had in the beginning to positive ones. Ever since, Dladla proudly knows and declares, “I AM LEGIT SO DAMN SEXY!”

In this interview with Dladla, we discuss her childhood trauma with those girls that bullied her, why lingerie means the world to her, body-confidence, and her life-changing advice to all of you who are currently experiencing any sort of shame with your bodies.

Interview with the stunning and brave warrior queen @HerMajesty_TheBrave

LECHERY: Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

BUSISIWE: I am a 24 year old IT graduate currently employed at a telecommunication company. I am a plus size lingerie model. Born and raised in the city of Johannesburg, here is the Gauteng province in South Africa. I have always had a loud personality, always been one to speak out or voice out her opinions and make sure that my messages get across. I was raised in church and my dad is actually a priest (I know what they said about PK's it's all lies hahah) I love to sing and I love wine hahah.

LECHERY: We see that you're into hosiery and lingerie, what got you into posting hosiery and lingerie? Tell us more about it.

BUSISIWE: When I was in grade 10 I think I remember walking to a friend's house after school and I walked passed these two girls and one of them said to the other "If I was ever her size I would kill myself" and she said this as loudly as she possibly can almost as if it was intentional and she wanted me to hear her. I remember standing there not breathing for almost what felt like an hour, I turned back and went home, got in my room and I cried for a whole hour or so, you know that kind of crying where you even bury your head in the pillow so no one can hear you? Yep, that one. I spent so much of my time when I was younger hating everything that I was, disgusted by all of me and I never took a second to thank my body for always carrying me even when I didn't want to belong in it. I spent so much time with my body that all that hate turned into so much love and freedom for me.

Lingerie makes me feel empowered, it makes me feel good about myself, it makes me smile it puts me at ease after a long day....I swear I will get back from work after a long day. I put on my lingerie and grab a glass of wine and the world doesn't seem like such a bad place after all. I feel and look amazing in it.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie?

BUSISIWE: Lingerie is meant to enhance sex appeal and make a women feel sexy yes, but for me it's been more than that. Lingerie to me means freedom, it means resilience, it means me going against all the beauty standards that women my size have had to abide by for the longest time, don't wear anything too tight or too revealing, nobody wants to see that much flesh. It means taking back all the power I gave away thinking I don't have any. I have also learned that I can not control how people view me and my choice to express myself the way I do. If someone looks at my pictures and all that comes to their mind is sex then that is on them, I can’t do anything about that. Every single day I get a bunch of messages from women all around the world thanking me for doing what they can not do as yet which is be brave enough to go against society's beauty standards and embrace my body how I want to. I get beautiful messages from women thanking me for helping them break out of their shells and start living for themselves and I can not describe how that makes me feel because all I have ever wanted ever since that day a girl indirectly told me to go kill myself I never wanted another girl to ever feel the way I felt on that day. Oh and yes it does give me confidence and at this point my sex appeal is through the roof I can't even be modest about it, I AM LEGIT SO DAMN SEXY!

LECHERY: What is the perfect pair of hosiery for you? Or lingerie, if you don't wear hosiery.

BUSISIWE: I am obsessed with a one piece that hugs my body so tight it feels like second skin. I've recently also started to be into thongs. My love handles are one of my favorite parts of my body so any chance to show them off I'll take it.

LECHERY: As wearing hosiery and lingerie can be seen by the wider-community to be vulgar, how do you react to the negativity?

BUSISIWE: The love I get on my social platforms outweighs the hate and the negativity so to be honest with you I don't deal with the negativity, the negative people deal with me really hahah.

LECHERY: We live in a very double standard society, when a man is topless, it is normalized and accepted, but for a woman, she’s hypersexualized and stigmatized. As women, how do you think we should combat this?

BUSISIWE: One of my favorite quotes is one from Lena Horne and it says "The female naked body is treated so weird in society, it's like they're constantly begging to see it but once they do someone’s a hoe"  if there is one thing I love the most about today's modern woman is that we have completely redefined everything. The definition of independent is different, the definition of what it means to be a strong woman is different and we are slowly but surely taking our lives in our own hands and making things happen for ourselves. We have a long way to go but we're getting there. The world is slowly listening to women, our opinions, views and ways of expressing ourselves.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the hosiery and lingerie industry in the future?

BUSISIWE: Sizing! Do better with sizes. It's a mission and a half to find something that you don't have to fight to get in first hahaha. As much as I love tight lingerie, it would be nice to not always settle because I can't find my exact size. More options and variety for bigger women IT'S LINGERIE STOP TRYING TO COVER US UP. For some reason whenever retail stores try making lingerie for bigger women they always have these old granny looking pieces and am just there so confused.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy? What is your advice to other women who struggle with confidence and body-image?

BUSISIWE: A good fitting pair of jeans (which are also so hard to find as a big woman). Listen sis! It's okay to want to change parts of your body' if there is something you don't like about yourself it's okay to want to change it but during that process you don't have to be mean to yourself....The world offers so much hate already you have no business inflicting pain on your own self. Be patient with yourself, be kind to yourself, spend time with yourself, what I mean is take at least an hour naked or in lingerie in front of the mirror and study your body, touch it squeeze it grab it hug it show affection to it. This way you get to find parts of your body you didn't even know you had and you learn to fall in love with them so that if it ever happens that someone decides to point them out and try to make you feel bad for having them you already know they are there and you love them regardless. It's a process so you won't do it once or twice and you'll be fine no! Patience sweetheart, pace yourself. Walking around the house naked or half dressed, for me the less clothes I have on, the better hahaha. I'm never dressed when I am home. Another reason why I don't really like having visitors over cause it means am gonna have to get dressed hahah. Show love to yourself physically and get familiar with your own body. And remember sis you'll still be art even if no one is looking.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words

BUSISIWE: Empowered, Resilient, Sexy

LECHERY: It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?

BUSISIWE: I don't know about the health part because quarantine really has everyone making constant trips to the fridge hahah. But I have been taking this time to just work on my inner self, the people I surround myself with and really just healing from things I don't talk about with everyone else. Finally had the time to start working on getting my own brand off the ground. It hasn't been easy but to be honest social media has been helpful too.
