A Lifelong Battle with @Tayli_West

A Lifelong Battle with @Tayli_West

Good evening ladies! How are we all doing? Hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy amidst COVID-19! We said this last week, but, we will get through this together! Things are getting better here at least in New York - we just have to continue staying at home, wearing masks, gloves, washing our hands, and using sanitizer! This is a community effort, and we will get over this pandemic!

With that said, it is the weekend and we didn’t forget our weekly interview with our ladies in lingerie! Our next interview we will be posting on our page is with none other than Tayli West!  Tayli is a model who has worked with multiple renowned brands across France. One fascinating fact about her is that she was also featured in more than 50 music videos - like wow! In this interview with Tayli, she discusses with us her journey to becoming a model (which she initially thought wouldn’t have been possible), her struggles with self-confidence and body image, the idea of women being able to proudly show their bodies without fear of judgement, the stigmas of women who post lingerie content on social media, and of course, this wouldn’t be a LECHERY interview if we didn’t discuss her favorite lingerie products. The list goes on but we don’t want to give any more spoilers. @Tayli_west has A LOT to say when it comes to battling the notions against women who wear lingerie and we couldn’t but thank her for her wise words and thoughts. Support and show love to this amazing, intelligent, incredible, and powerful woman, @Tayli_west.

Interview with the inspiring, hardworking, and alluring @Tayli_West

LECHERY: First of all, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to interview you! It is such a pleasure to have you here with us (virtually) of course haha! Let’s first start off by telling us a little bit more about yourself. What do you do?

TAYLI WEST:  Well, as you can probably tell from my Instagram account, I’m a model. Not the runway kind, but I’ve been modeling for different photographers, some clothing and lingerie brands, and I’ve featured in over 50 music videos.

LECHERY: We see that you're into lingerie, what got you into posting lingerie? Is that your way of practicing self-care? Tell us more about it and the battle you have been fighting for over 10 years.

TAYLI WEST: As far as I can remember, I’ve always been into modeling, and any artistic things actually. I never thought I would be able to take part in this business because of my height, and at the time Instagram didn’t exist. But I was given the opportunity of a photoshoot and from there on many doors opened up to me.

It is also a way of practicing self-care of course. I was struggling with my own image, with self confidence. Getting into this helped me get through a lot of my own issues. Although I do not consider myself a feminist, I do; however, believe a woman should be able to be proud of her body, to be able to love herself the way she is and not be ashamed to show it!

We live in this world set with the idea that « good women » should not show off their body; but the women’s body is one of the most beautiful things; there is no reason as to why they shouldn’t be able to show it. Society is so set on the fact that only men should be able to show off their body, to seduce, to be sex symbols and be proud of it, whereas women are quickly judged as whores and many other things if they actually have an active sex life. I would love to change that! It is a lifelong battle because we live in a man’s world, but I am hoping as time goes and as women get more confident, society will change their mindset.

LECHERY: What does lingerie mean to you? Does it give you confidence? Or is it just something you wear to give an added extra sex appeal? How do you feel when wearing lingerie? Why do you feel there is such a stigma against women who post pictures of themselves in lingerie?

TAYLI WEST: It means so many things. I love the way it fits my body, it makes me feel sexy, beautiful, seductive. It helps me become more confident in myself, but I absolutely love that look on my man’s face, the way his eyes shine and his mouth just drops every time!

As I said, society has been like this for so long, probably because of religious beliefs. Women all over the world have and are still discriminated against. We are still today belittled compared to men. Even some women criticize the ones that post pictures of themselves in lingerie. We are considered the easy kind, not the marrying type, out of control somehow, unintelligent, with no education, no boundaries and no moral values. It’s really sad to see. But, I personally believe it comes out of frustration, seeing that we are actually good women, the marrying type, we have children and raise them with high moral values, who earn money, sometimes more than men, with what we actually have in our brain and not only our body.

As for the women who talk bad about us women who do it, they are just frustrated not to have the guts to do what we do because they are afraid of what people might think about them. I’ve always said, you can do whatever you want to as long as when you look at yourself in the mirror you love what you see, you can sleep well at night because you can actually assume everything you do.

LECHERY: What is the perfect set of lingerie for you? And which brands would you recommend?

TAYLI WEST: There is no perfect set, any type of lingerie can be perfect. There are so many different ones. It's all about how pretty you personally find them, how comfortable they feel to you. I’m not really into brands, I pretty much look at the design, the quality of the material, how comfortable it seems and the price.

LECHERY: What is a bad experience you've had with a lingerie set? And what brands would you avoid buying from?

TAYLI WEST: I would say it was a lace set, the quality was horrible and it felt so  uncomfortable! There is also one thong which had a beautiful design. The jewel on it was made out of nickel steel and I am highly allergic to it so it was horrible!        However, there are no brands I would really avoid, none I have in mind at least.

LECHERY: What is your main advice to women who struggle with confidence and body image?

TAYLI WEST: Self-confidence and body image is such a personal thing. Everyone can tell you, you are beautiful, as long as you don’t personally believe it, you will never wrap your head around it. It is a lifelong battle only you can fight.

LECHERY: What do you hope to find in the lingerie industry in the future?

TAYLI WEST: I’m actually working on my own lingerie brand and I would hope with my own experience I will be able to provide women with what they are looking for. But I would say what is really missing is beautiful plus size lingerie. Many of my plus size friends complain about not being able to find beautiful lingerie that fits them.

LECHERY: What is one lingerie piece that every girl should have in their closet?

TAYLI WEST: I think every woman should have a three piece set, I find it to be one of the sexiest things you can have in your closet.

LECHERY: What is one thing you would always wear that would make you feel much more confident and sexy?

TAYLI WEST: I don’t think there is only one thing. I think as long as you feel sexy and confident you can wear just about anything.

LECHERY: Describe lingerie to you in three words:

TAYLI WEST: Sexy, seduction, and beautiful!

LECHERY: It is a really tough time in today's world with the whole COVID-19 pandemic going on, what have you been doing to keep yourself busy and healthy?

TAYLI WEST: It is so hard! As a mother, one of the hardest things is keeping my six year old busy and not being able to see my man! I cook, take pictures of myself and my son (I’m working on his Instagram account), play board games, watch movies and series, work on my different projects, FaceTime with family and friends and with my man of course!
